So, yeah, this is somewhat belated. The trip to Malaysia was considered fun I guess, apart form the rain that drenched me and caused inconvenience. We reported at HQ on Sunday, and then we met a fella from Nan Hua. He was alone, so we went over to talk to him, and he was the first friend we made :D
We were supposed to report at 1930. While Queensway Sec came late, Jurong West on the other hand reported at 1630. Big contrast huh... There was a briefing in the theatre about the trip and the place i.e Endau Rompin, which is a National Park, located at the south of Pahang and north-east of Johor. The speaker mentioned that the park was approx 49,000 hectares big. He then posed a question, "What is the area of Singapore?" and continued with, "Bukit Panjang answer?"
The 4 of us were like stunned. That was supposed to be a relatively easy quesion eh? In the end, we couldn't give an answer, which was...very embarrassing la. Anyway, the man said it was 600+km square, but according to Wikipedia it's 701.1km square leh. That's lame. Never mind.
Thereafter had night snack. And slept in the air-conditioned theatre. An earlier batch participants gave this suggestion of letting us sleep there. Thanks la! Monday morning, after breakfast, time to set off.
Spent around 40 minutes travelling to Tuas, another 20 waiting in the bus lane, and another 20 waiting to get through the emigration counter. Next stop was Kahang, where we will switch to 4 wheel drive to get into the park, coz the road was bumpy and need to drive across a river. A bus probably could not do this. Along the way was a 20 minute break when we could purchase some food and rest. Bought a burger, and it was yummy, just that it was a little flat and the chicken meat was not think enough to give a stronger sense of thrill. The trip to Kahang took around 4 hours, and there was where my relatives' house was located! I could have gone and find them, but of course I could not run away.

Arrived at Endau Rompin, and had lunch and accommodation at NERC. I forgot what this acronym stands for le, something like National Environmental and Research Centre. Mmm, makes some sense. We had water rafting and arrived at a village, home to the Orang Asli, who are the aborigines. Got to know about the different animal traps they used, learning more about their culture? Then trekked back to NERC. At night, 2 Orang Asli came to teach us how to make some handicraft. I had a grasshopper, but it is going to die soon, since it's from a leaf. These are the major highlights bah.

Second day was fun. Took a boat and a long trek to Kuala Jasin, where we will be staying for the night. Rested, and then another short trek to Kuala Marong, which is actually like a crossroad. We proceeded to Upeh Guling, which is a waterfall. It was great soaking the feet in the water while eating. Trekked back Kuala Marong then to Tasik Air Biru, where we had a swim. So now you see why it's like a crossroad huh? After that...great. It RAINED. So trekked in the rain back to Kuala Jasin. Hoho, I didn't get any leech bite, but some people are really down on their luck...had numerous blood donations. At night, there wasn't any electricity available to our dorms, only 2 miserable lamps. I think is because there was not much solar energy collected during the day. Yeah, they used solar energy for conservation purpose...

Thrid day, returned to NERC. Tidied up belongings, Sadded, a guy lost his handphone. Everyone allowed him to check our bags. Cool huh? It was nice treatment, oh and I forgot if he got it back eventually...-.- Cert presentation. Slacked. Time to go home! It rained! Walked to Yio Chu Kang MRT station from HQ, and my shoes were utterly wet. It was around 10 when I reached home. Dead beat. Didn't bring camera nor handphone but there are some pictures posted, taken from the net : )
