Thrilling Taiwan (Part 3)

Zhongshan Metro Mall

I think Metro Malls don't appeal to me. Anyway, mostly clothes and accessories are sold and my sis enjoys buying the latter. There are also works of art displayed on the walls of one stretch of walkway, like a mini art exhibition. However, I am also not one who appreciate art either, so going to metro malls wastes my time actually. Haha.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi

Haha, I love the name. It's 星光三越 in Chinese, sounds nice as well. Actually come here also didn't do anything. We expected the price of the items to be expensive and moreover we weren't really looking for anything as well, just there to see, and take some pictures to prove that we have been there before, lol. The place is classy...

Hooray, a proof that I've been there. Look at the chandelier. omg...

鸡家庄

Time for some food! Now, this place is worth visiting already. The chicken is so succulent and so aromatic. We ordered one of their signature dishes: 三味鸡 and felt like ordering more, but needed to be more stringent... Anyway the 三味鸡 not that cheap leh. It's NT$420 if I'm not wrong.

Love. The. Chicken. Must must must dip the sauce that is near the rice. The sauce enhances the great taste

六条通鱿鱼羹

Interesting shop name, I find. After eating the not-so-tasty 综合羹 previously, I didn't feel like eating more s already...but my sister kept asking me to try and hmm! This one not bad!
Oh ya, I suddenly remembered something. This thing happened in Chiufen actually, while we were eating in a shop. Since this is like a similar scenario, I am reminded by it. Anyway it's really...cool. News were broadcasted on television in the shop, and it features one girl with a very special name called “冷静” Yes, her surname was "", (which is also her grandfather's surname) how extraordinary... So happened that her grandmother's surname was "", so if a girl marries into the family, she would be "嫁入冷宫", quoting what was on the news.
Since we missed out the Thermal Valley and the museum at Beitou yesterday, we returned there again.

Xinbeitou MRT station

And walked to Thermal Valley. Sian, nothing one. The workers doing some sort of cleaning and maintenance, didn't think can go in. Merely took some pictures over there. The museum, haiz, need take off shoe, and don't think that there is really anything to see, so also didn't go in. In conclusion, the second trip to Xinbeitou is also wasted. So after that took MRT to Danshui again, intending to go Fisherman's Wharf.

Entrance of Xinbeitou MRT station, quite nice huh?

Fisherman's Wharf

Firstly, the wind is strong. Secondly, it is very cold. Heard that at night when the Lover's Bridge is lighted up, it is a beautiful sight. In the end didn't wait till night la, coz didn't know how to spend the time there. Btw, the sky there turns dark faster, at 1730, it's like 1900 in Singapore already. Just put pictures here ba.

Boats at Fisherman's Wharf. Kind of "duh" right

On the Lover's Bridge, oh, but haven't found one yet. Maybe next time bring her here. Haha

Tempura and Vanilla Cuppucino

Actually wanted to go Danshui old street, but sister said seems nothing much, so okay lor, didn't go. Anyway, we really had (a lot) of time during the last 3 days, so even if we did go to Danshui old street also doesn't matter.

1813
Shida Night Market

Took MRT to Taipower Building MRT station then walk here. This night market is near a school. The students really shiok lah...so near a place with a wide variety of tasty food. Let pictures and captions do the introduction of the food.
After Shida night market, returned to hotel. Aiyo, return so early kind of wasted, but there seemed to be some other great food that we missed. Anyway, we were really full liao.

Aww man...this is so so so nice! You bite inside the bun then the juice spurt out inside your mouth one

I love this as well. The beancurd ultra soft and 入口即化. It's not exaggerating. The amount of strawberries they give is really generous and the milk smells really nice and tasty as well.

Ximending

Didn't have hotel breakfast today, decided to go for something else in Ximending. 卤肉饭 wasn't as nice as that I ate at Chiufen. Beancurd wasn't as nice as that I ate at Shida Night Market as well. But never mind, they do not taste that bad after all. The boss of the beancurd shop had long fingernails and many tattoos and looked like those kind of rough Ah Beng. However, never judge a book by its cover; he was a really friendly man, who will say "thank you" after your patronage. In fact, you can encounter a lot of people liek him. In Singapore, how often do you hear a word of thanks from the owners of the retail outlets?

1214
East Metro Mall

This links Zhongxiao Fuxing and Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT stations. Again, nothing that appeal to me, but it does, to my sister, of course. Oh btw, though I don't really love this underground shopping experience, this underground connection does serve a useful purpose. After my sister is done with her shopping, we exited and were around Zhongxiao Dunhua for some food. Below shows the 2 of the 3 food we ate.

Of course not eat the shop. But this shop sells very very fragrant and healthy drinks

Their "dried noodles" not really dry one. I only like the noodles, actually. This is 哨子面, "Whistle Noodle".

Ok, finished eating, oh no, don't know how to get back to MRT station. Then we spotted a random entrance to the East Metro Mall. Hah, that means we can use it to get back to either Zhongxiao Fuxing or Dunhua station. Convenient...

1406
Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall

Getting here is easy. You will know de, if you interested in going. Inside, I saw the name of one room that attracted me. I forgot what it was, however. It turned out to be yet another art gallery. Since I have already gone there, just leaving like that very bo liao right... So although I wasn't really interested in those works of art, I still went in to take a look. Of course, all very beautiful, but see more already becomes boring for me, and not that kind of insatiable interest to wanna view more. Oh yes, and there was a sentence that made me wow.

传承五千年光辉历史,
维护亿千里锦绣江山
。”

The toilet there is really clean. Smells nice as well. Quite classy. I don't know why I comment on the toilet, maybe it's one of the few nice toilets I encountered. I bought a souvenir from the shop, but didn't take a picture of it. I wanted to put on my study desk but my mum koped it and it's now in my dad's car -.- Now, for the pictures:

Exterior of the memorial hall

Beside Mr Sun. Aiya, forgot to upload one more pic here. Never mind. Go FB view the album, people!

Wufenpu

Went to take MRT to Houshanpi station, then walked to Wufenpu. Really a great place for buying clothes...but there is much more shops selling ladies wear than gentlemen. Ok now, for the very persuasive shop owner. Sometimes I really don't like it when I step into a shop then the staff come and introduce here and there. I want to take a look myself first... She kept rattling on and on and no gap for me to insert a word or two lor. Aiya, don't know la. Don't know how to reject and in the end bought a shirt for NT$800. Hello, I'm at Wufenpu leh, why the heck did I buy it... Anyway, later bought a decent jacket for NT$380. Ok now, this is much better...

A bad and a great deal made here

1714
Taipei 101 Shopping Centre

MRT-ed again to City Hall station and took free shuttle bus to 101. One stop before 101 the bus still very crowded. I thought majority of the people heading for 101 so it would be quite easy to alight, but alas, no! Sian diao, got to squeeze through the crowd. I sort of stepped/kicked onto someone's stuff. Hopefully it wasn't fragile. Didn't know if it was damaged or what, but I sincerely apologise for it!
Taipei 101 shopping centre is really a place for the rich lor. The things all branded and freaking ex. Saw one ultra ultra posh restaurant, but didn't see many people inside though. Taipei 101 building is linked to the shopping centre. Went to the 5th floor to buy tickes up the observatory. The staff said the view that day wasn't as clear... Hmm, nice, I thought. Of course they would wanna earn money right, but they still politely give advice nevertheless. Aiya, I also don't know when is the next time I will be going Taiwan already, if I didn't go up then I will feal real sorry to myself de lor. So, up we went then. Actually the view was ok la, not too bad.

Exhibitions inside 101 tower. Aiyo, so black

A night view of Taipei city

Taken in 101 Observatory

The world's 2nd tallest skyscraper. Surpassed by Burj Khalifa in Dubai, thanks to a friend for the info. Ha...things are ever changing...

After that, went back to hotel liao~ Bought a packet of guava at Ximending. I love the fruits there, and the guava, not too hard, not that kind of tasteless one, and the plum powder is nice... Keep using "nice". Paiseh la, limited vocab. But there are many wonderful things...
